PAST EVENTS

Future Cinema takes on Watchmen.

Future cinema teamed up with Paramount Pictures UK, Nokia and Smirnoff to bring you an exclusive event celebrating the much-anticipated film Watchmen. Under the archways of London's cavernous seOne Club we transported the audience into an alternative New York, a 50s fantasy land complete with a Gunga diner, installations, and live music from punk rock band Gallows.

Secret Cinema rocks London with Anvil! The Story of Anvil

The foundations of Shepherds Bush Empire shook as Secret Cinema rocked back to 1984 with Anvil. Rockers, bikers and metalheads joined us for this exclusive pre-release screening and the most exciting Secret Cinema to date, which culminated in a live performance from the band themselves.

Secret Cinema brings Ghostbusters to record numbers.

For one night only New York came to the streets of London and Brighton, and the Ghostbusters weren't far behind. Over 1,100 people braved the paranormal activity and turned up to the Royal Horticultural Halls for an evening of fun filled nostalgia and ghoulish surprises.

Secret Cinema takes you to A Night at the Opera

Secret Cinema and the Marx Brothers took to the stage at Hackney Empire for some good old- fashioned comedy. Bowler hats, and glamorous 30s dresses were the order of the evening as we took the Secret Cinema audience back in time. Stand-up comedy and an operatic excerpt from Verdi's 'Il Trovatore' kept our audience guessing.

Future Cinema hosts the Future Shorts DVD Launch.

We celebrated the launch of 'Future Shorts: Adventures in Short Film: Volume One' with a spectacular interactive party featuring performances and installations based on the DVD, all set within a beautiful renovated church in Soho.

Future Cinema gets dirty with Rock 'n' Rolla.

Future Cinema transformed the South Bank's seOne Club into a world of East End villains, gorgeous dancers, addled rock stars and seedy hideouts. Over 1000 people filled this glitzy neverland to witness an exclusive screening of Guy Ritchie's Rock 'n' Rollla introduced by the director himself. The film was followed by music from ska legends The Beat, with DJs spinning the best rock 'n' roll and members of the cast lurking in the shadows.

FS Live joins the Guillemots on tour.

Our partnership with Nokia took us out on the road with Mercury nominated band the Guillemots, touring in locations as diverse as the Barbican, a Lancastrian Library and spectacular Cornish Caves. We curated a selection of critically acclaimed global short films, projected across the stage for the band to improvise with.

Future Cinema goes to Nevereverland.

'Part film, part installation, part dream'. We took to the stage with Modular Records and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, who crafted the soundtrack to a truly hedonistic experience at one of London's most cutting edge and contemporary music showcases.

Future Cinema takes to the stage at Latitude.

At Latitude 2008, we immersed festival goers into the surreal mind of David Lynch. Centred around an epic live rescore of Eraserhead by The Guillemots, the vast film tent was transformed into a dark caberet complete with dancers and performers bringing to life the characters from the film in an interactive environment.

Secret Cinema goes back to school with If..

We continued our education for cinematic thrill seekers with a bit of good old-fashioned rebellion, courtesy of the iconic 'If...'. Audiences were treated to a lesson in filmic discipline at Dulwich College in London and Clifton College in Bristol, where they were met by a faculty intent on making them stay in their seats. For once they did not protest.

Secret Cinema brings Funny Face to the Academy.

Secret Cinema began 2008 with the 1957 Audrey Hepburn classic, 'Funny Face'. London's Royal Academy of Arts was transformed into a place of culture and refinement with ladies in elegant dresses, brass bands playing the classics and impromptu fashion shoots.

Secret Cinema is unveiled with Paranoid Park.

Secret Cinema launched in December 2007 with a preview of Gus Van Sant's 'Paranoid Park'. Mystified audiences gathered under the disused railway arches of London Bridge amongst skateboarders, performances, and installations for a vivid realisation of the film.
